Indo- Japan Wedding in India- Part 2

In my last part…

I wrote about the first 2 important ceremonies of my Indian wedding.
The first was Henna ceremony and the next was Haldi (turmeric) ceremony.

Haldi (Turmeric) ceremony

The turmeric ceremony took place on the morning before my wedding and I had to get up at 4 in the morning for getting ready. It was a little stressful but everyone had fun and loved the decoration, food and other arrangements.

On the same day I had my next event which is the Sangeet Night (Dance night).

Dance night

As we had booked a place on the mountain for the wedding we had to travel for 2 hours to reach the venue.
It was a rough journey but the place was so beautiful that it was all worth it.

Way to the venue

As all the Japanese people were new to the small roads and it was already dark due to winter, the journey was a bit scary for them.
Things were settled when everyone finally reached the venue.
The ceremony started 1 hour late due to few troubles.

Venue entrance

When I reached the venue 2 people from Regeta i.e. the president and vice president were already their and my sister gave them a room to rest till the ceremony starts. After putting all my stuff in my room, I went to greet both of them and thank them for coming all the ay to India for my wedding.

The fun night finally started.

It was me and my husband who began the ceremony with our dance performance.

It was my husbands first time ever dancing to Indian music in front of a big crowd.

He did a great job and everyone enjoyed our performance.

The night continued with my sisters, cousins and friends’ performances.

My younger sister had 3 to 4 dances and I was really impressed. My mom also did a dance alone as well as with me and my sister.

The big surprise of the event was the dance by my husband’s sister and her husband.

In- laws

I just sent them a dance YouTube video and they did a wonderful dance.

Everyone was so stunned to see them perform.
It was a fun night and we all enjoyed it a lot.

We all had our dinner and then moved to a small hall where our engagement ceremony arrangements were made.

Usually engagement ceremony in India is few months before the wedding but as we did not have time we did ours before our wedding day.

Ring ceremony

We exchanged rings in front of everyone and cut the cake. The night was finally over.

The next day was the main event that is the wedding ceremony. I woke up at 4 in the morning and went to the makeup artist room to start my hair and makeup.

It took 3 hours more for my makeup, hair and my outfit and I was finally ready. Ready to meet everyone. We took few photos ad video till 9:30.

I and my husband went to our respective rooms and waited for the call to go down at the main event place.

The ceremony started at 10 am which was on time. All the guests gathered and my traditional Maharashtrian wedding began.

The Varmala Ceremony stands out as a particularly intriguing one. Varmala marks the beginning of an Indian Wedding;the point at which the Bride and Groom come in contact to kick off the wedding rites.

The Seven Steps – What do they represent?

We had few other rituals and the complete wedding ceremony lasted for 3.5 hours. As the end of the ceremony I and my husband took pictures with the guests who came to our wedding. Than we had our wedding lunch.

We changed our cloths and played few games which is a very common practice in India.

After everything we set back for home. The long wedding ceremony came to an end. It was like a dream to many of us. The dream came to an end.
