一見すると桜の花、染井吉野（ソメイヨシノ）
に見えるが、紅葉李（ベニバスモモ）のもの。
桜の花よりは１ヶ月ほど早くに花を咲かせる。
その花はとても美しく、花数も多いことから
鑑賞価値の高いものとなる。


この樹木は実をつけるが、名の通りスモモで
酸味が強く生食には向かない事からジャムや
果実酒に利用するのが良いとされる。

At first glance, it looks like cherry blossoms, specifically Somei Yoshino (Prunus yedoensis), but it's actually the flowering tree of the Red-leaved Plum (Prunus sargentii).


It blooms about a month earlier than cherry blossoms.


The flowers are exceptionally beautiful, and their abundant quantity makes them highly valued for appreciation.


While this tree bears fruit, it's a plum tree as the name suggests.


Due to its strong acidity, the fruit is not suitable for raw consumption, making it ideal for making jam or fruit liquor.
