海神の娘と人間の王子
昔々、海の底には海神が治める美しい王国がありました。海神には人魚姫という娘がいました。人魚姫は海の中で父と仲間たちと幸せに暮らしていましたが、時々、海面に上がって人間の世界を覗いていました。人間の世界には海の中にはない色とりどりのものがあり、人魚姫はそれに憧れていました。ある日、人魚姫は海面に上がって、船に乗っている王子を見かけました。王子は人魚姫の目にはとても美しく、勇敢に見えました。人魚姫は王子に心を奪われました。
人魚姫は王子に近づきたいと思いましたが、海神は人間との交流を厳しく禁じていました。海神は人間を海の敵と考えていました。人魚姫は父に逆らえませんでしたが、王子のことを忘れることもできませんでした。そこで、人魚姫は秘密裏に海の魔女に助けを求めました。海の魔女は人魚姫に、人間になる方法を教えてくれました。しかし、その代償は大きかったです。人魚姫は自分の美しい声を海の魔女に渡さなければなりませんでした。そして、人間になった後、王子に愛されなければ、泡になって消えてしまうと言われました。人魚姫は怖かったですが、王子に会いたい一心で、海の魔女の条件に承諾しました。
人魚姫は人間になって、海岸に打ち上げられました。そこで、王子に発見されました。王子は人魚姫の美しさに惹かれましたが、人魚姫は声が出せなかったので、自分の名前も故郷も伝えることができませんでした。王子は人魚姫を自分の城に連れて行き、優しく世話をしました。人魚姫は王子と一緒に過ごすうちに、ますます王子を愛するようになりました。しかし、王子は人魚姫を妹のようにしか思っていませんでした。王子は隣国の王女と婚約していました。王子は王女にも心を寄せていました。王子は人魚姫に、自分は王女と結婚することを伝えました。人魚姫は悲しみに打ちひしがれましたが、王子の幸せを願いました。
王子と王女の結婚式の日、人魚姫は海の魔女から、自分の声を取り戻す方法を教えられました。それは、王子の心臓にナイフを刺すことでした。人魚姫は王子を殺すことができませんでした。人魚姫は王子と王女の結婚を祝福し、海に帰ろうとしました。しかし、海に帰る前に、人魚姫は泡になって消えてしまいました。海神は人魚姫の死を知って、悲しみと怒りに燃えました。海神は人間に対する復讐を誓ったのでした。

The little mermaid lived happily in the sea with her father and her companions, but from time to time she would rise to the surface and peer into the human world. The prince told the mermaid that he would marry her. The little mermaid was overwhelmed with sadness, but she wished the prince happiness.
On the wedding day of her prince and her princess, the little mermaid is taught by her sea witch how to regain her own voice. It was to put a knife through the heart of her prince. She the mermaid could not kill the prince. The little mermaid blessed the marriage of the prince and princess, and she was about to return to the sea. But before she could return to the sea, her mermaid turned into bubbles and disappeared. When the sea god learned of her mermaid's death, she was filled with grief and anger. The sea god swore revenge against humans.
