Day34

The Week5 is finished.
I felt nervous when this week began.
Addition my physical condition was not good in this week.
But I could receive good results at exam. I could recover my confidence.

Today I could talk with Charlie who is the teacher of “Conversation class” after the class.

He asked me “How about your exam?”
I told him “I guess I could receive the best score in my class, reading 93……… but, I have to improve speaking skills more than other skills.”

He said “Well done, don’t worry, keep going!”

I’m thinking that he is the best teacher in our school. He has a lot of experiences and he always gives us good questions. So I was relieved.

Certainly I can talk smoothly each time in his class. But this class is getting harder each time.

Today’s class, he gave us the country’s name, and we had to talk about the country as “my favorite country”.

In my case 1st time is Italy, 2nd time is Singapore and last time is Antarctica.
Last one is so difficult. I have to talk about Antarctica immediately. I don’t remember how to explain that, maybe “I can’t see anything but I can feel atmosphere, that experience is changed my mind”.

He is also like debate, today’s topic is “Parents should be able to choose their child’s gender?”and “It should be allowed to carry guns? Both topics are so difficult and so attractive for me.

This class is made up of around 15 students, but 50-60% students came from South America and Europe. Especially today, almost of students are absent because of yesterday’s boat party, so Asian students were just two.

Debate of first one, a student told us “her father attempt to switch babies, because he wanted a boy.”

When we debate to second one few students told us “my family has been the target of shooting.” How should they protect their family? I don’t understand. If the government doesn’t allow to carry guns from now, what will happen? Chaos is waiting at there. There is no solution for peace.

from school

In the evening, I went to go Opera house to  hear Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
The program consists Glinka’s overture, Piano concerto No.2 by Prokofiev and Symphony No.5 by Tchaikovsky.

Prokofiev was performed by Behzod Abduraimov, he is so good. His performance seems Yefim Bronfman’s.
On the other hand, Han-Na Chang is not enough, I thought. She wanted to design the details more, but she couldn’t control the orchestra. When they performed Prokofiev, I felt anxiety a little bit.

Audience in Sydney is so casual, they enjoy the concert like sports matches. That is a good thing. But in fact, they have not enough knowledge to listen to classical music. They are often clapping their hands at all between movements at symphony and concerto like Pops or Rock concerts. If you like to go to concerts of classical music, you can imagine this situation. Naturally, this situation didn’t happen every time.

The begging of the history of Orchestra at Sydney is 1932. It is later than Tokyo about 20 years. It will be change 20 years later??
