May 6, 2024: New Store Openings （新規開店）

For a while after the outbreak of COVID-19, I had hardly seen any new shops or restaurants open in my town. Recently, however, I have grown to see or hear that a number of new shops or restaurants have begun to do so. At my walking distance, a new Italian restaurant has opened. It is just a few minutes walk from my home. I have yet to dine there, but I am going to do so soon. I have also heard that a new pasta restaurant opened lately. It is in a few minutes of cycling on the bike from my home. It seems to be always busy and enjoys its business. It also seems to help to revitalize a coffee shop near the restaurant.
In addition, I was told that my wife found the openings of other new shops and restaurants. Among them is a bakery, Coppe Tajima, which has interested me the most. It is a takeaway about ten minutes of cycling on the bike from my home. It was about a month ago that my wife bought me a bun at the shop. It was a melon-shaped sweet one, 'Melon Pan' in Japan. It tasted good and instantly made me a fan of the bakery. Since then, she has often come to buy me other buns at the shop when she is near the shop. All buns taste good and are offered at good prices. I also took them for lunch the other day when my daughter's family came to my home. The one I loved the best was the one filled with chocolate cream. It was the first time my daughter and her husband had eaten the buns. They tried a couple of buns, including the one filled with sliced ham cutlet, and enjoyed them very much.
They also remind me of my old days. I used to eat similar ones when I was a child.

　COVID-19が流行後しばらくの間、ボクの町では新しい店やレストランがオープンするのをほとんど見かけませんでした。ところが最近になって、新しい店やレストランがいくつかでき始めているのを見聞きするようになりました。徒歩圏内では、新しいイタリアン・レストランがオープンしました。家から歩いて数分のところです。まだ行ったことはありませんが、近いうちに行ってみたいです。また、妻から最近新しいパスタのレストランがオープンしたことも聞きました。家から自転車で数分のところにあります。いつも繁盛しており、好調のようです。また、レストランの隣にある喫茶店も相乗効果で好調のようです。
　妻は他にも新しい店やレストランがオープンしているのを知っています。その中でボクが一番興味を持ったのは、コッペ田島というパン屋さんです。家から自転車で10分ほどのところにあるテイクアウトの店です。１ヶ月ほど前、妻がそこでパンを買ってきてくれました。「メロンパン」です。おいしくて、たちまちファンになりました。それ以来、妻はこの店の近くに行くと他のパンをよく買って来てくれます。どのパンも美味しく、値段もお手頃です。先日、娘の家族が我が家に来たときも、お昼にここのパンを食べました。みんなとても喜んでくれました。ボクが一番気に入ったのは、チョコレートクリームがたっぷり入ったものです。
　また、ここのパンをみると昔のことを思い出します。子供の頃、同じようなものをよく食べたものです。
