February 16, 2023: Vacant Lot near My Apartment (1), Reuse（マンションの近所の空き地 (1)、再利用）

A vacant lot near my apartment seems to be being reused. It had been in use by a chain of casual restaurants before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019. It was fairly large enough for the restaurant to have 100 or more seats and ten or more car parks. But it was closed a year after the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, it has not been in use. As a result, the area completely got dark at night and lost its bustle. I was keenly aware of how the restaurant was valuable. The space is now getting busy. But it will need time to reuse. It is being prepared and needs a lot of work for its reuse. According to the plate put on the lot, it will be used for a high-rise apartment building with a clinic and a drugstore on the ground floor. The apartment may be mainly for the elderly.

　うちのマンションの近所にあった空き地の利用がようやく決まったようです。コロナ感染症が流行する前は、この場所にファミレスがありました。席数は100席くらいで、駐車場もあったので、敷地としては結構広かったです。このファミレスが、コロナの影響を受け、流行から1年位で閉店してしまいました。それ以来、この辺りは、夜になると真っ暗になり、賑わいも消え、ファミレスの明かりのありがたみをしみじみと感じていました。
　そして、ようやく空き地の利用に向けた準備が始まりました。まだ、利用開始までには時間がかかりそうですが、利用に向けた工事などが近々に始まるようです。工事の案内板によると、高層住宅で、1階には診療所と調剤薬局が入るようです。２階から上は住宅のようですが、ひょっとしたらシニア用の住居かもしれません。
