英語日記 No. 53

こんにちは。1ヶ月ほど前、映画 オッペンハイマー を見た後の感想日記です。

Last week, I saw the movie Oppenheimer at the theater. It was a three-hour movie, but I didn't think it was lengthy. Having read many materials about the atomic bombs, I was able to follow the story.

While watching the movie, I felt the entire audience froze, staring at the scene where all Americans were excited and joyful upon learning that an atomic bomb had successfully attacked Hiroshima.

Despite the accomplishments in developing atomic bombs, the movie primarily focused on the horror of bombings and the magnitude of suffering they caused. It also delved into the arms race that followed.

I think that Oppenheimer's era could be similar to the current situation. Like Oppenheimer, many scientists today cannot cease discovering new technologies, which may lead to disastrous consequences in the future. Just as he feared the ensuing arms race, we must learn to regulate these technologies.

Thank you for reading my diary.
