英語日記 No.49

Hello, Diary,

I've come across information stating that in 2023, the population of foreign nationals residing in Japan has reached an all-time high of over 3.4 million, amidst the country's initiatives to tackle its pressing labor shortage. As the number of foreign residents has been increasing, so does the number of foreign children who cannot speak Japanese. Once I become a qualified Japanese teacher, I want to support these children. According to a book I'm reading for the exams, foreign students with a lack of Japanese communication skills tend to drop out of school. This makes it difficult for them to graduate from high school and land regular jobs, which are crucial in Japan. With access to adequate language lessons, they would have a better chance of graduating from high school.

Thank you for reading my diary.
