英語日記 No.52

Hello, Diary,

A few days ago, I came across an article about efforts to reduce food waste in Japan. Among these initiatives, I found an interesting app called Tabete and downloaded it on my smartphone. Tabete provides a platform where restaurant operators and other food-related busionesses can offer items nearing disposal for purchase at discount prices. According to the article, both the number of participating stores and the number of users have increased steadily. I noticed that some of cafes and bakeries in my neighborhood are participating Tabete, so I want to check the app when I go outside.

In the article, another e-commerce platform, Kuradashi, was introduced. Starting from February 15 just after Valentine's Day, they acquired excess chocolate inventry from more than ten manufacturers and sold it at a discount near Tokyo Station. As chocolate isn't a perishable food, I think it is a wonderful idea.

Thank you for reading my diary.
