“Blue Tomochan and Schizophrenia”
Originally created in Japanese in 2014, this manga essay explores the life and mind of the author, who was diagnosed as schizophrenia at age 15. It won a special prize at the first cakes Creator Contest in 2015, and her first comic book, “I Have Been Living with Schizophrenia Since Junior High School: Blue Tomochan’s Tedious Diaries” was published by Godo-Shuppan in 2018.
This manga essay was revised and translated to English in 2020.
