【SS】知恵の鍵

人影まばらな夕暮れ時の動物園。
閉園時間を知らせる音楽が寂しく流れる。

浮浪者らしき男が鉄柵にもたれ　
猿山の猿を眺めていた。

酔っているのかよろめいて　
男はなにかを踏んだ。

「ん？」

拾い上げたそれは　
複雑に折れ曲がった鍵のように見えた。

わけのわからない代物だった。
男は怒って、鉄柵越しに投げ捨てた。

「くそっ！ どいつもこいつも
　おれを馬鹿にしやがって！」

そのまま男はふらふらと出口に向かった。

その鍵は、猿山の子猿の頭に当たった。
子猿は鍵を拾い、噛み付いて歯を痛めた。

どうやら食べ物ではないらしい。
子猿は、それを興味深く見つめた。

おもちゃにして遊べるような気がした。
実際、遊んでみると面白いのだった。

頭がだんだん熱くなってくるのだった。

毎日毎日、鍵で遊ぶ子猿の姿があった。

どれくらい時が流れたものか。
とうとう鍵がふたつに割れてしまった。

もう子猿は子猿ではなくなっていた。

大きくなった猿は鍵を捨てて立ち上がった。
なんだか賢そうな顔をしていた。

そして、檻の外で見物する入園者の顔を眺め　
生まれて初めて言葉を発した。

「ふんっ！ どいつもこいつも
　おれよりたいしたことないぞ！」

The Key to Wisdom

A zoo with few people at dusk.
Music that informs closing time flows sadly.

A man looking like a vagrant leaned against a steel fence
and was looking at the monkey in the cage.

The man seemed drunk
and the man grew up and stepped on.

"Hmm?"

That he picked up looked like a complicated bent key.

It was a substitute that nobody could understand.
The man got angry and threw it away over the iron fence.

"Damn! Everyone this fool makes me stupid!"

The man stumbled and went to the exit.

That key hit the head of a child monkey in a cage.
He picked up the keys, biting and hurting his teeth.

Apparently it is not food.
The child monkey stared it interestingly.

He felt like playing with it as a toy.
In fact, playing it was fun.

His head gradually got hotter.

Everyday, there was a figure of a child monkey
playing with a key.

How long has passed.
Finally the key broke into two.

He was no longer a child's monkey.

The monkey who grew up stood up with the key abandoned.
He looked somewhat smart.

And he watched the face of the visitor
who watches outside the cage
and uttered the word for the first time when he was born.

"Hmm! Everyone will look foolish than me!"
