【童話】笛吹きの森

ある山の麓に森があって　

滅多にないことだが　
お山の方角から風が吹くと　
美しい笛の音が聞こえる。

それゆえ村の者は、その森を　
「笛吹きの森」と呼ぶ。

笛の音が聞こえたからといって　
べつになにか恐ろしいことや　
めでたいことが起こるわけでもないが　

そのままなにもしないというのも　
なんとなく申し訳ないような気がして　
村の者は、皆きょろきょろして　

棒を見つければ　
それで石ころを叩き　

箸を持っていれば　
それで茶碗を叩き　

それぞれ適当に　
笛の音に合わせて拍子をとる。

まったくもって　
人が好いというか、なんというか。

Flute Player's Woods

There is a forest at the foot of a mountain,
which is rare, but when the wind blows
from the direction of the mountain
you hear the sound of a beautiful flute.

Therefore,
those in the village call the forest
"Flute Player's Woods."

Even though I hear the sound of flute,
something terrible or happy does not happen,
