【SS】ミミムシ

子どもというのはおかしなことを言う。
「あっ、ミミムシ！ ミミムシ見つけた！」

娘に抱きつかれ、耳を引っ張られた。

休日の昼下がり、居間で読書中のことだった。
せっかく物語に夢中になっていたのに。

鋭い痛みが両耳の付け根に走った。

「ほら。とっても大きなミミムシ」
幼い手のひらに耳が載っていた。

なるほど。耳の虫か。
なかなか面白い発想だ。

言われてみれば、虫のように見えなくもない。
蝶の羽のような形をしている。

それに、ちゃんと六本の脚も生えている。
なんと、二本の触覚まで伸びている。

ミミムシは両耳を動かし、空中に浮き上がった。
つまり、羽ばたいたわけだ。

その羽音が妙にうるさく感じられた。

なんだか心配になって声を出してみた。
「おい、ミミムシ。どこへ行くんだ？」

やはり、声がおかしい。
というか、それを聞く耳がおかしいのだ。

立ち上がって、壁の鏡を見る。
両耳がなくなっていた。

隣の家の犬の吠える声が聞こえる。

目の前の娘は開いた窓を指さしている。
「ミミムシ、窓から逃げちゃった」

そんな娘の声が遠くかすかに聞こえた。

これはどうも大変だ。
とにかく、ミミムシを捕まえなければ！

なんとかしないと大問題になりそうだ。
「ちょっと捕虫網を貸してくれ」

そう喋ったつもりなのに、
なぜか自分の声が聞こえない。

だが、うなずいて娘は居間を出たのだから　
確かに声は出たはずである。

さてさて。
ともかく落ち着いて行動しなければいけないぞ。

ミミムシなどいるはずがないのだから。
仮にいるとしても、幻覚に違いないのだから。

すると、これは幻聴なのだろうか。
「まったく変人よね。ふたつ隣の家のご主人って」

それは、ふたつ隣の家の奥さんの声だった。

Ear-Bug

Children say strange things.
"Ah, I found Ear-bug! Ear-bug!"

My daughter clung to me and pulled my ears.

Ear-bug moved both ears and floated up in the air.

After all, the voice is strange.

I stand up and see the mirror on the wall.
My ears were gone.

I can hear the barking voice of a dog next door.

My daughter in front of me is pointing to an open window.
"Ear-bug ran away from the window."

The voice of such a daughter felt faintly afar off.

This is difficult.
Anyway, I have to catch Ear-bug!

It seems to be a big problem if I do not manage.
"Lend me a bit of an insect net."

I intended to speak,
but I can not hear my voice for some reason.

But my daughter nodded and left the living room,
so my voice surely got emitted.

Ear-bug something can never exist.

"He is a weirdo at all, the man in the neighbor's house."

That was the woman's voice at the neighbor's house.
