I worked as a shipyard carpenter at Electric Boat during 1977-1980 time frame. I worked on the Ohio and the Michigan and several 688 class submarines. Because the Ohio was the prototype of the class, a lot of mistakes were inevitably made during its construction, even though a full sized wooden mockup was built before the actual keel was laid. One of the biggest mistakes that I can remember was AFTER all of the missile tubes had been welded into the hull, it was determined that they were ALL slightly off centerline. The fix was to cut out each tube and reinstall it in its proper location. Does anyone remember that?

Thank God Tom Cruise didn't join the MCU to play an alternate Tony Stark in the last Doctor Strange movie, this was a MUCH better choice to deliver us a standard summer blockbuster that is what we've been waiting for all along. Action, soundtrack, and a happy ending has everything we've been wanting to see for about 3 years now. Thanks for this film!

If anyone is curious, the hand signals the SU-57 pilot was using were actual signals. He first said, "follow me" then he said "330". "Follow me, heading 330" asking Mav to follow him north back to the base he came from, away from the ship which was south of their position. So, they really did think he was a friendly before Maverick started shooting.
