El expresidente Donald Trump irrumpió en la política estadounidense en 2016, con una mirada fresca sobre lo que se había convertido en una esfera política cada vez más estancada en los últimos años. Con abundante ingenio, riqueza y conocimientos empresariales, el hombre agarró al Congreso estadounidense por el cuello y lo sacudió. Desde entonces, no ha dejado de recibir burlas, insultos y, lo que es más aterrador, dos intentos de asesinato. ¿Por qué es este hombre una amenaza tan grande para tantos? ¿Sigue siendo el candidato adecuado para hacer que América vuelva a ser grande (otra vez)?

Nacido en Nueva York y multimillonario, antes de su primera candidatura a la presidencia era amigo de la mayoría de los políticos, de los medios de comunicación e incluso de Hollywood. Sin embargo, literalmente de la noche a la mañana, fue demonizado y expulsado de todos los altos círculos sociales. ¿Por qué su posible permanencia en la Casa Blanca crearía un movimiento tan generalizado para destruirle? Después de todo, no era el primer Presidente famoso, Ronald Reagan había sido el 40º presidente entre 1981 y 1989. Ambos irrumpieron en política con planes radicales para el futuro de su país.

Y ahora, en 2024, con las elecciones presidenciales a la vuelta de la esquina, este hombre, que, a primera vista, no puede ser comprado, tiene más posibilidades que nunca de ocupar una segunda presidencia. Former President Donald Trump blasted his way into US politics in 2016, with a fresh set of eyes upon what had become an increasingly stagnant political sphere in recent years. With abundant wit, wealth, and business knowledge, the man grabbed the US Congress by the scruff of the neck and shook it up. Since then, there has been a consistent onslaught of mockery, abuse, and now, terrifyingly, even two assassination attempts. Why is this man such a huge threat to so many? Is he still the right candidate to Make America Great Again (again)?

A native New Yorker and a billionaire, the man was, prior to his first run for the presidency, a friend to most in politics, news media, and even in Hollywood. However, literally overnight, he was demonised and thrown out of every high social circle. Why would his possible tenure in the Whitehouse create such a blanket movement to destroy him? After all, he wasn’t the first celebrity President, Ronald Reagan had served as the 40th president between 1981 and 1989. Both men broke into politics with radical plans for their country’s future.

There is no denying, that Donald Trump has had a questionable past with a scattering of scandals throughout the years, however, when it comes to the elite class, there are none with clean hands. If integrity was the focus for a president of the US, there would be very few people in any form of government office! So with that being said, what does this level of visceral hatred achieve? With an increasing lack of true leadership being shown by a number of previous presidents, who had not listened to the average American for so long, along with major infrastructure failing and industry in many states declining or finished altogether, the American public decided to take a chance on a different approach from a man with a business mind and a promise to bring the money back and create a national pride not seen for many years.

Many Republican voters liked the thought of investment being brought back to the states, with many believing this man could negotiate goods deals across the world and be a strong leader for them. With many tepid, weak leaders, Mr Trump, with his impressive stature, stood out at many global gatherings, putting America back at center stage.

In a normal functioning world, most would see that as a very proud position to be in, however, left-leaning commentators could not clamber quick enough to berate this head of state. And this denigration turned into full-blown spite with shocking claims of racist or misogynistic behaviour being the main factor in their dislike of the man, but it’s quite obvious to any level-headed individual, that this was just a patronising smoke screen, because if either of those reasons were true, many, many politicians, on both sides and genders would be found just as guilty, including both his old and new competitors.


The truth is that Donald Trump is too much of a loose cannon for the oligarchs that want to keep the money and power flowing in their direction, and his nature is far too competitive to be controlled by these people, which, in their eyes makes him an extremely dangerous candidate. Also, because nobody bothered about the temperature of the feelings of the US back in 2016, they were completely taken by surprise. That was when they had to jump into action and create a living devil that the world should fear.

Constant media attacks were put into overdrive, it seems everywhere was being flooded with pure, unashamed hatred for a man who, just for speaking against the pre-written playbook all politicians seem to speak from these days, had to be stopped at all costs, no matter the price, no matter the cost to democracy.

With the wildest of accusations laid at his door, day after day, they still can’t seem to grapple this man from the chance of the top job. Everything has been relentlessly force-fed down the throats of the electorates, media channel after media channel, spitting out more and more absurd stories, from Russiagate, to an accusation of hush money being paid to women with the morality of a sewer, to an accusation of insurrection, just because it suited the people who were really in the shadows, doing real harm to the constitution.

And now in 2024, with the presidential elections charging towards us, this man, who, on the face of things, cannot be bought, is looking more likely than ever to serve a second presidency. But unfortunately, democracy in the US is now under a real threat, with the anti-Trump agenda taking a dark and dangerous turn, with two attempts on his life. Is this just the work of some crazy lone wolves, hoping to find infamy, or is this presidential election taking on a frightening new element, with other forces trying to take control of this country’s future?

The sad truth is, if the candidate who is the hope for millions of voters across the country is removed one way or another, there is a fear that the anger amongst his supporters could spiral out of control, and if that were to happen, it could finally cause a serious rift that would be near impossible to reverse without many people suffering in the process.


No matter your political leanings, left, right, or center, the one thing we must all make sure of, is that this man is protected at all costs because this is bigger than a single man. This is no less than a fight for the very fabric of a nation and all the democratic freedoms it currently enjoys. You are not obliged to like any of the politics that is being played out anywhere in the world today, but there is always a much worse outcome possible if those at the top of that greasy pole get their way.
