「 (ゆっくりいこう）」 Perfect View from the Window 04
名前のない島に出会う前に、まずはあの島の近くの小さな島に行くことになる。（仮にキー島と呼ぶことにする。）
Before getting Noname Island, We need to travel to “CAYE”.
キー島へ行くことを決めたのも、旅先で偶然出会った何人かの人々の言葉から。
I had no idea if I go there. Some traveller's words made me go that way.
Exchanging the knowledge on the road.
ルート的には一度来た道を戻ることになったけれど(グァテマラから秋分の日のチェチェンイッツァに間に合うように北上した後だったから)、そもそも決まった予定や目的地があって旅をしていたわけではない。来た道を戻ることになったとしても構わない。
I had to go back (if I think about my route I went north from Guatemala to catch autumn equinox at Chichén Itzá in 2012), but I didn’t really care…I had no fixed plan or proper destinations.
もしも彼らに出会っていなかったのなら、キー島の話を聞いて出かけてみることもなかったかもしれないし、名前のない島に出会うこともなかったのかもしれない。
If…
I haven’t met those people on the road, I might not get the chance to visit “ CAYE” nor finding Noname island.
そういう平行世界がたくさんある中で、この世界線を選んで、いまここにいるという奇跡について、窓の写真を見ると考える。
There is a lot of “IF”.
When I see the photo of “PERFECT WINDOW”,
I think about those ”IF”…parallel universe of possibility.
I choose to be" HERE and NOW"
すべての出会いに感謝すること。

誰かの言葉が、なにかが、わたしを名前のない島まで連れてきてくれた。
I always think about miracle encounters on the road...somebody, something lead me to Noname island.
これまでに出会った、たくさんの人たちで自分の人生はできているのだ。
My life is made of those miracles I met on the road.
予定調和の外側まで探険すると、探していたわけではないような、特別な宝物に出会うことがある。
I sometimes find special unexpected treasures outside of expected road.
キー島は、世界一周やアメリカ大陸縦断をする旅人とって、バックパッカーの楽園的にある程度名前の知られている島だ。
“CAYE” is a popular destination on Caribbean those who travel around the world.
カリブ海沿いのその国には、世界遺産の豊かな珊瑚礁とブルーホールがありいくつかマヤ遺跡がある。
The country is famous for its Barrier Reef, Blue hole, and Mayan ruins.
キー島の名前を聞けば、懐かしいと感じる旅人も多いはず。
Nostalgic name for some.
北上する人、南下する人、いろんな旅人が交差する。
北米大陸に住む人々にとって冬の避寒地としても人気があり、観光地化が進みつつある。
Crossroad for going north and south, becoming more touristy, get away island for some for winter.
初めて来たのに、なんだか懐かしく感じるような、、、
Everyone might have felt nostalgic at first sight.
潮風にさらされ風化した、ペンキのはがれおちた家たち。
Weathered with sea breeze, the peeling paints, rustic buildings on one main street.
ゆったりとした空気。
Slow air welcomes you.
島を散歩し、一つしかないメインストリートを何度か往復すれば、すぐにお互い顔見知りになってしまうようなペンギン村的距離感。
カラフルな童話のような、おとぎ話の中の世界。
If you walk on the street, you'll know each other in couple of hours.
Like in a colorful fairy tale, we are small villagers on the island.
かつてはジャマイカと同じくイギリス領として統治されていた時代があり、レゲエのリズムが風にのって遠くまで届き、街をカラフルに染める。
“CAYE” is used to be ruled as British territory like Jamaica.
Riddim in the air travel far on the street under the bright sun.
青い海と太陽の下の毎日。
Blue Sea bless us all every day under the caribbean sun.

「GO SLOW (ゆっくりいこう）」と言うのがキー島の合い言葉。
“ GO SLOW” is a slogan for “CAYE”.
ロブスターを食べ、ライトハウスかベルキンビールを飲む。
Eating lobster, drinking light house or belkin beer.
島には舗装された道はなく、砂道を行き交うのはゴーカートと
カラフルな自転車。
端から端まで歩いても、１時間もかからないような、そんな島。
No paved road. Only Go-carts or colorful bycycles on the sandy road.
Just a small island…we could almost travel whole island in one hour or two.
