There's a high-stakes cat and mouse game going on over whether President Trump will announce a run for 2024.
Most of us don't want him to announce because that would suggest that he intends to wait until 2024 to return. I'm not expecting him to make such an announcement.
I believe Biden's DOJ will indict and arrest Trump soon. Although it will cause bad optics if they do it before he announces, it will be almost impossible to do after he announces.
If Trump wanted to put the Biden in a pickle he could announce a run, knowing that arresting him afterward would be unpopular even among hardcore progressives.
If and when the DOJ indicts or arrests Trump, I believe it will signal the official start of the storm.
