5/29/24 - Reviewing the previous lesson

I wrote about the importance of reviewing yesterday, but today I realized I rarely reviewed the previous lesson with my private student. If he doesn't have time to write down the lesson content, I had better allocate several minutes to review the last lesson. 

So, I've decided to have him read the previous lesson content from the chat boxes during the next lesson and translate it into Japanese on the spot. When he cannot do so successfully, I will have him copy it onto his notebook. This approach may be time-consuming, but I'll ask for his feedback about this review afterward. If he likes it, I'll include this in every lesson.

I usually believe that reviewing is something students should do on their own. However, I need to be more flexible for too busy students.

P.S. 昨日の続きです。オンライン授業でチャットの板書を書き留めない生徒さんの対応を今日考えました。生徒さんに前回のレッスン (previous/last lesson) チャットの内容を読み上げてその場で日本語に訳してもらおうと思います。（日本語から英語に訳せるのが理想ですが、おそらくそれは難しいので）できなかったものはその場で (on the spot) ノートに書いてもらいます。

この方法だとかなり時間がかかってしまい (time-consuming) そうなので、あと (afterward) で感想 (feedback) を聞いてみて良ければ毎回取り入れる (include) ことにしようと思います。「時間がかかりすぎるので自分で書いておくようにする」と言われるかもしれませんが、それならそれでいいと思います。（←そのほうが時間が節約できますから本当はそうして欲しいんです...。）

復習は生徒が自分で (on their own) することだとは思うのですが、それが忙しくてできない生徒には柔軟に (flexible) 対応する必要がありますね。（それができるのが個人レッスンのよいところです。）
