PickUps

GESSは、中東からのエントリーも多く、STEAM領域を中心に、ゲームや対戦型の学習アプリやオンラインのチューターリングが多い印象です。その他、フィンランド型教育を雛形としたカリキュラム支援が複数エントリーされていたのも注目ポイント。

■Curio (UAE) 

Curio は学校向けや保護者向けも含む総合的なプラットフォームですが、iPad版で Curio Learn、iPhone版で Ask Curio として、学生向けに学習をサポートするアプリも出しています。

アプリでは、オンラインで質問ができるようにもなっていますが、選択クイズ対戦形式で競争しながら学べます。最初に学年を選ぶのですが、ターゲットはK-5からK-9のあたり。内容的には海外大学院を目指している方のGREの勉強にも役立ちそう。

■LearnMatch (Austria)

語学での対戦型では LearnMatch 。

１回２分ほどの対戦です（ハーフタイムあり）。同じ言語の同じレベルでマッチングされるわけではないようで、レアな言語を選んでいてもサクッと対戦相手が決まります。英語の中級を選んだところ、別の言語（スペイン語など）の初級の方と対戦になりました。自分の難易度は選べるのですが、上級のコンテンツを選んでいるときに、相手が初級だとボロ負けすることも...。

出題のタイプも、音声や絵から名詞・動詞・形容詞を当てるもの、文字の並び替えなど、いろいろなタイプがあります。語学としては、発音チェックとかも増えて欲しいところ。

ゲーミフィケーションの中でも、相手のいる対戦型は、かなり集中できるので、短時間で高い学習効率を得られます。いくつか英単語もしっかりと刻みこまれました（foal=仔馬...）。
