期待される『トップガン3』：2024年11月13日（水）

先週金曜日（11月8日）に，日本テレビ番組「金曜ロードショー」で『トップガン』（監督：トニー・スコット，主演：トム・クルーズ，配給：パラマウント・ピクチャーズ，1986年公開）が放映された。今週金曜日（11月15日）には，同じく日本テレビ番組「金曜ロードショー」で『トップガン　マーヴェリック』（監督：ジョセフ・コシンスキー，主演：トム・クルーズ，配給：パラマウント・ピクチャーズ，2022年公開）が放映される予定だ。

　第1作目の『トップガン』が1986年に公開されてから36年後に，第2作目の『トップガン　マーヴェリック』が2年前の2022年に公開された。単純に思って「凄い」と言えるのは，36年も経ったというのに，第1作目の『トップガン』の続編が何の違和感もなく制作できている点で，主演のトム・クルーズの力量の偉大さについてである。

　私とほぼ同年代のトム・クルーズ（62歳，本名：トーマス・クルーズ・メイポーサー4世）であるが，この年齢で彼ほどの運動能力を有している人物は驚異である。トム・クルーズ主演の映画としては，来年の2025年夏には『ミッション・インポッシブル　8』（仮題）が公開予定とされているが，『デイズ・オブ・サンダー』（1990年公開）の続編が企画されていることや，『トップガン　マーヴェリック』の続編となる『トップガン３』（仮題）が企画されているとも報じられている。

　どうしたら，彼ほどのエネルギッシュな人生を送ることができるのだろうか。秘訣があったら，ぜひご教示頂きたいものである。

The Anticipated Top Gun 3: Wednesday, November 13, 2024

Last Friday (November 8), the movie Top Gun (directed by Tony Scott, starring Tom Cruise, distributed by Paramount Pictures, released in 1986) aired on the Japanese TV show Friday Roadshow. This Friday (November 15), Top Gun: Maverick (directed by Joseph Kosinski, starring Tom Cruise, distributed by Paramount Pictures, released in 2022) is scheduled to air on the same program.

It’s remarkable that, 36 years after the first Top Gun was released in 1986, the second installment, Top Gun: Maverick, was released just two years ago in 2022. What’s impressive is that a sequel could be made seamlessly after such a long gap, a testament to Tom Cruise’s remarkable ability.

At 62, Tom Cruise (full name: Thomas Cruise Mapother IV), who is close to my own age, possesses an extraordinary level of physical ability for his age. As for movies starring Tom Cruise, Mission: Impossible 8 (working title) is scheduled for release next summer in 2025. There are also reports of a sequel to Days of Thunder (released in 1990) and a potential sequel to Top Gun: Maverick, tentatively titled Top Gun 3.
