How to Register a Society online in Punjab?

Society is a group of people with similar objective and aims which results in non-profitable services. As per the provision of Punjab Societies Registration Act of 1860, society registration is done by the office of the Registrar in the district where you want to establish the society. In this article, we will look at the process and necessary documents for Punjab Society Registration in detail.

Acceptability of Names for Society

Societies or place must not have the same names according to the provisions of Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act of 1950. If the name is prohibited by State or Central Government or it is already registered then such names are not permitted for a Society.

• Name, designation, occupation and address of society's governing body must be given as per the rules and regulations of the Society.
• The MoA along with The Signature Of Minimum Seven Members.
• An Individual Other Than The Signatories Must Witness The Signature Of The Subscribers To The MoA.
• Details Of Witness.
• First Meetings' Copy Of Resolution.
• Two Documents Separate Under Section 1 Ando 2 Of The Act .
• Copies Of Rules Ando Regulations And Association.
• A Sum Of INR 500 Towards The Registration Fee As Per Societies Registration Act Of 1860.
• Self-attested photographs of the members and name, address, Telephone Number, designation, signature and occupation of members in Governing Body.
• Witness (Gazetted Officer or Notary or Advocate)
• Identity proof of all members.
• Covering letter application for registration. . of a society to Deputy Registrar of the concerned district from the President / Secretary of the Society.

Required Documents

The following are the essential documents for applying society registration in Punjab:

• Four copies of by-laws of the society
• Banks certificate, stating that the credit balance is in favorite of the proposed society.
• A list of people who share the entrance fee and the capital amount.

Application Procedure for Society Registration in Punjab

The Government of Punjab grants the Society Registration certificate through Assistant Registrar:
Step 1: To register a Society in Punjab, the applicant must prepare the application, affidavit in an approved format and the required documents.
Step 2: Draft MoA and By-Laws of The society. Also, the MoA and By-Laws must be drafted as per the guidelines stated in Society Registration Act of 1860 and must be utilized only for the charitable purpose.
Step 3: Then submit the address proof of all the society's members and registered addresses of the society. Draft a Board Resolution where the members of the proposed society had considered necessary to form a society together with the sanction of the name of the society.
Step 4:Finally, the applicant has to submit all the required documents to the office of Additional Registrar-Cum-General Manager, District Industries Center of the concerned District.
