「ストレートに言ってやる」
パレスチナ人のラッパーとイスラエル人のラッパーの「MCバトル」がYOUTUBEで話題になっている。ふたりは同じ自動車整備工場のなかでひとつのテーブルとその上の昼食を挟んで言い合いをする。

1948年、第2次世界大戦中の「ホロコースト」の悲劇などを経たユダヤ人が、自分たちの祖先の土地だとする現在のイスラエルに移り住みイスラエルを建国し、国連の「パレスチナ分割決議（1947年採択）」に基づいてこの地にユダヤ人とアラブ人の国家を創ることになったが、これが長い対立の歴史のきっかけとなった。
この土地に住む現在の人々がどんな言葉を語るのか。しかし、残念ながらこのMCバトル動画、歌詞の日本語訳がなさそうだったので知識の至らないところはあるが、英訳をもとにその日本語訳をこのnoteに記しておこうと思う。

このソーシャルプロジェクトは、ジョイナー・ルーカスの歌「I'm Not Racist」にインスパイアされたものです。この歌を見た後、私は3年間の旅に出ることを決意し、イスラエル中を旅し、調査し、多様なユダヤ人とアラブ人の意見を集めました。
この曲は、私が遭遇した、恐怖に目がくらむ単純な物語に育まれた極端な声を反映しています。
私たち若い世代は、もう十分だと思います。私たちは、変化を信じ、生き、愛したいと思っています。真正性を促進し、複雑性を理解し、穏健な真実を語ることで、私たちは過去のトラウマを手放し、より良い未来を共に築くことができるはずです。

Jaffa：イスラエル中西部の都市テルアビブヤッファの南部の地名。1949年にパレスチナ人が追放され、隣接するテルアビブと合併した。
Kahane：メイル・ダヴィド・カハネはアメリカ出身の正統派ラビ、極右活動家、イスラエルの国会議員
Gaza and the West Bank：1947～1949年の中東戦争でイスラエルが勝利し占領拡大してパレスチナから奪った土地。その後、87年に抵抗運動によってパレスチナ暫定自治区として奪還。
