エルマーと虹🌈

エルマーは、イギリスでずっと愛されているカラフルなゾウさん。１９８９年に最初の絵本が発売されてから今なお人気の絵本シリーズ。好奇心旺盛で、かわいらしいゾウのエルマーが子供たちに自分らしくいることや違いを楽しむことの大切さ教えてくれます。

「エルマーと虹」は私のお気に入りの絵本です。ある日エルマーは真っ白な虹を見て、虹に近づこうとします。
「大きくてカラフルな虹を触ってみたい。あんなに大きいのに近づこうとすると、どんどん離れて行ってる気がする…」小さい頃、虹が持つ不思議さに心躍らせていた記憶などが蘇って来ました。エルマーの持つカラフルさと優しさのおかげで、エルマーは真っ白な虹をカラフルな虹に変えてみせました！

Elmer, the rainbow patchwork elephant, is beloved picture book series for 2-5 years old kids since the first book was published in 1989. They tell us the importance of inclusivity and diversity with this charming, cheerful, colourful Elmer.

Elmer and the rainbow is one of my favourite picture book to lift my sprit a bit up whenever I read it. Elmer found a colourless rainbow and wandered looking for the end of the rainbow. This reminded me of my old memory “the rainbow looks huge and so close to us but the closer you get the farther it goes….” With his bright colours to share and give, the colourful rainbow is back!
