7日目　Day7

1週間が経ちました。今日は学校の先生に興味深いお話を聞けたのでシェアします。It has been a week now. Today I heard interesting stories from teachers at the school, which I will share with you.

コロナ禍の授業に関して。全世界で猛威を振るっているコロナ、もちろんガーナの教育にも大きな影響を及ぼしました。コロナが広がってくと同時にガーナの小学校も一年休校になりました。しかし一年のみ。これにはオンライン授業の限界が関係していました。日本やオーストラリアでは、パソコンを持っている家が多くあります。しかしガーナはそうではありません。持っている家庭の方が圧倒的に少ないです。そんな中でのオンライン授業。オンライン授業を行うことは難しいので、先生たちが教材のデータをメールを通して親御さんに送り、各家庭で勉強を進める形を取るしかありませんでした。

It was concerning the lessons of the Covid disaster. Covid, which is raging worldwide, has, of course, had a significant impact on education in Ghana. At the same time as Covid spread, schools in Ghana were closed for a year. But only for one year. This had to do with the limitations of online teaching. In Japan and Australia, many homes have computers. However, this is not the case in Ghana. Far fewer families have a computer. It was difficult to conduct online classes, so the teachers had no choice but to send the data of the teaching materials to the parents via email, and each family had to study at home by themselves.

もしまたパンデミックが起こったら、同じことが繰り返されるかもしれない。制限がある中で、どう最大限に教育を与えられるようにするか。また一つ考えなければならない点が見えて気がします。

If there is another pandemic, the same thing could happen all over again. How can we ensure that education is given to the maximum extent possible in the face of restrictions? I think I see another point that we need to think about.
